What kind of legal advice is included?
Employment law and human rights advice only. This does not cover corporate law, intellectual property, real estate, or other practice areas. Your advisory hours are focused on policy review, compliance questions, employment law guidance, and related advisory matters.
Is this a real solicitor-client relationship?
Yes. When you consult with Simes Law, it creates a genuine solicitor-client relationship with full confidentiality. First Reference has no access to your discussions, advice, or policy reviews with your lawyer.
What if I need more than 4 hours?
No problem. Additional hours can be added at any time, and larger packages are available for organisations with greater needs. Talk to your First Reference representative about the right fit.
Can I use the hours for anything?
Your hours can be used for policy reviews, compliance questions, employment law guidance, and related advisory. Time is tracked to the nearest tenth of an hour, covering phone calls, emails, document review, and consultations.
Do I need to be in Ontario?
Simes Law provides employment law advisory covering most provinces in Canada (excluding Quebec). Whether you operate in one province or several, they can advise on your specific jurisdictional requirements.
